SAP Calculations UK - What we do

Following our initial consultation and your approval for us to commence the works, you will need to send us the scale drawings you submitted for planning permission and those you intend to submit to building control for approval, including the specification. These can be submitted to:
enquiries@marsh-group.com in either PDF or DWG format.

We will then undertake calculations according to your specification, taking into account the size of building, the construction method, insulation type and thickness. Openings such as windows and doors, roof type and style, ceiling heights and floor areas are also required.

Our calculations include thermal bridges such as those found in the walls, studwork, roofs and floors where heat can escape at junctions. We will also include the buildings predicted heating, lighting and water usage. All this information is then input into our specialised SAP software and the result will show either a pass or a fail.

If your building passes the SAP test we will confirm this to you and send you the outline results. If the building fails the test we will undertake an analysis of where it has failed and advise you of any changes that will need to be made to enable the building to pass, then undertake additional calculations. This  is all done in a helpful and collaborative manner.

Once the results show a pass, we will forward an outline of the proposal to you for your perusal. Once you are happy with our findings, we will submit an invoice and send you your full SAP report on payment . We will also include construction details of the thermal bridges that will need to be signed and sent back to us to ensure the installation has been completed in line with our calculations. Once completed an "as built" certificate will be issued and an EPC will be provided.

We can recommend certain products to be used to comply with the SAP calculations. However, the installation method needs to be in line with manufacturer’s instructions and to the satisfaction of building control. Our accreditation covers the SAP calculations at design stage and "as built'" stages only. It does not cover the the construction method, this will be the responsibility of
your construction team.

If there is anything you're no sure about, please just ask and we'll be happy to help.
